Where do I begin. I thank God the day Josephine & I met you. You were like an angel sent to us. I can't thank you and your staff enough for taking such good care of my Aunt during her illness.

You treated us both like family. Your care, concern, support and friendship was very much appreciated.

You and your staff did so much for me & Josephine. I can't thank you enough for your help. Miss seeing & talking to you. Take care.

Dear Mary,

It was our pleasure to have you all as a part of our family during the last month. I am incredibly grateful to all the caregivers who helped keep my father comfortable as well as keep me sane. It was a new thing for many of us, watching an elderly man pass away, but the strength and character of the "Guava Girls" showed through.

Mary, I hope you will let all the caregivers know that I am truly appreciative of their time and their understanding during our challenging month together. I wanted to especially thank Janie, who kept me glued together during the most difficult last days. Also Thomasina who was a vital to keeping my dad in line during those early days where "free will" was still prevalent. She handled both of my dad and I with true professionalism and humor. Linda had perhaps the most challenging of jobs during the early days when he was calling every few minutes to help during the very early hours of the morning. She was also the lucky woman to see me at my most fatiqued and "scary" looking...bed-head and all. A lesser woman would have cracked!

It all seems like a blur and surprisingly seems like it all happened so long ago. Was it really just 5 days ago?

We are all doing well here. The kids handled things beautifully, never showing any sign of fear. They only showed happiness and grandpa could now run and play without any pain in heaven. Oh the beauty of being young!

Again, my thanks to all the Guava team. My father's obituary will appear in this Sunday's paper.
